What We Need To Know:

  • Back wall dimensions of current kitchen/bathroom – include window and door sizes, appliance placement and don't forget ceiling height
  • Note any heat registers, gas lines, pipes/pipe chases
  • If new construction, please bring in the architect's plan to scale or actual dimensions
  • Measure your existing appliances (if they are staying) or bring dimensions for your intended new appliances
  • Your "wish list" – ideas about accessories, specialty cabinets
  • Photos from books, magazines and the internet, of kitchens that you love
At Your First Appointment:

We will discuss:

  • Cabinet brand and quality
  • Door style
  • Wood species and finish
  • Accessories (rollout trays, waste baskets, etc.)
  • Countertop style and color
  • Plumbing fixture
  • Cabinet hardware

The designer will then work on the plan and come up with a first draft based on the items discussed. Another appointment will be made to review the drawings and quotes. Subsequent meetings will be arranged on an as needed basis until the design process is complete.

It is important to note that designing a kitchen or bathroom is a PROCESS- rarely do designers sell the first draft of a kitchen or bathroom plan. Some customers are more decisive than others, or have spent more time doing their homework and know what they want and can communicate that to a designer.

We hope this introduction to our kitchen & Bath department has been helpful! We encourage you to call one of our designers with any further questions, or to set up an appointment to talk about your kitchen or bathroom.

Designers:
